Placeholders provide a powerful tool to personalize your scheduled messages in SKEDit, allowing you to create dynamic content that adapts to the recipient's information and the timing of the message. Whether you're sending out business messages, marketing texts, or friendly reminders, using placeholders can make your communication feel more tailored and engaging. In this guide, we'll walk you through the process of using placeholders to personalize your messages step by step.
Step 1: Accessing the Placeholder Menu
Open the SKEDit App: Launch the SKEDit app on your device. If you haven't already, log in to your account.
Navigate to the Scheduling Screen: Depending on your desired service (WhatsApp, WhatsApp Business, Telegram, or Messenger), navigate to the appropriate scheduling screen where you compose your message.
Locate the Placeholder Icon: In the message composition area, you'll find a placeholder icon {}. This icon represents the placeholders available for use.
Step 2: Inserting Placeholders
Tap the Placeholder Icon: Once you've located the placeholder icon {}, tap on it. This action will open up a list of available placeholders you can use in your message.
Select a Placeholder: Scroll through the list of placeholders to find the one that best suits your message's personalization needs. The available placeholders include:
Full Name: @recipient_name
First Name: @recipient_firstname
Last Name: @recipient_lastname
Day of the week: @current_dayoftheweek
Date: @current_date
Time: @current_time
Date and Time: @current_date_time
Insert the Placeholder: Tap on the desired placeholder from the list. It will be inserted at the current cursor position in your message.
Step 3: Placeholder Replacement
Complete Your Message: Finish composing your message around the inserted placeholder(s). You can use multiple placeholders within a single message to create a highly personalized and dynamic communication.
Schedule Your Message: Set the desired date and time for your message to be sent. Review the rest of your scheduling preferences as needed.
Automatic Replacement: SKEDit will handle the rest. At the time the message is scheduled to be sent, the placeholders you've used will be automatically replaced with the relevant data. For instance, if you've used the @recipient_name placeholder, it will be replaced with the recipient's actual name.
Tips for Effective Use of Placeholders - Keep it Natural:
While placeholders can add a personal touch, ensure that the message still reads naturally after replacement. Review the message to ensure that it flows well.
Using placeholders in SKEDit can elevate your communication strategy by adding that extra touch of personalization. Whether it's a friendly reminder, a promotional offer, or a professional message, placeholders help you create a more engaging and relevant message that resonates with your audience.
