Accessibility Keeps Disabling Automatically
If Accessibility keeps turning off or stops working, this may happen for different reasons depending on your device, system behavior, and installed applications.
Overview
If Accessibility keeps being disabled automatically, there may be more than one cause. In some cases, the issue is related to setup order. In other cases, another app or the phone’s operating system may interrupt Accessibility in the background.
Common Signs
- Accessibility toggle is still ON
- In settings, it may show “Not working”
- Scheduled messages are not sent
- Automation worked before, then suddenly stopped
1 You Used SKEDit Before Completing All Required Settings
One common reason is using the scheduling service before completing all required setup steps in the correct order.
Recommended Fix
- Uninstall SKEDit
- Reinstall the app
- Immediately after reinstalling, go to the SKEDit scheduling screen
- Tap the red triangle at the upper-right corner
- Follow all required setup steps in order
- Do not start scheduling until the red triangle disappears
2 Another App May Be Disabling Accessibility
Another possible reason is that something active on your device disables Accessibility after a period of time.
For example, some users report that certain banking applications may disable Accessibility. We have not been able to consistently reproduce this behavior in testing, but we do receive user complaints about it.
Suggested Solution
- After you finish using the banking app, reactivate Accessibility
- When the banking app is no longer in use, it may stop interfering with Accessibility
- If possible, avoid keeping apps open that may heavily monitor or restrict system permissions
3 Your Device Stops Accessibility in the Background
On some Android devices, the system may automatically stop the Accessibility service in the background. When this happens, SKEDit is no longer able to perform actions, even though Accessibility may still appear enabled.
Why This Happens
This behavior is caused by the phone’s operating system, not by SKEDit.
Some Android devices, especially brands such as Xiaomi, POCO, Infinix, Oppo, and similar models, use aggressive battery and memory management systems. These systems may:
- Stop background services to save battery
- Clean or optimize apps automatically
- Interrupt long-running services such as Accessibility
How to Restore Functionality
- Go to Accessibility settings
- Open SKEDit
- Turn Accessibility OFF
- Turn it ON again
Why It Cannot Be Reproduced on Every Device
This issue does not happen on all devices, even of the same model. It may depend on:
- System updates and OS versions
- Device region or firmware
- Installed apps and memory usage
- Individual device behavior
Important Note
This is a system-level limitation on some Android devices. SKEDit does not control how the device manages background services.
Even when all recommended settings are configured correctly, this issue may still occur occasionally on certain devices.
