SKEDit keeps asking for Accessibility after I choose a file to attach
Some users noticed that selecting an image to attach will cause SKEDit to crash and start requesting for Accessibility to be enabled (even if already on). The most likely cause of this problem is that you are trying to attach from the cloud (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.).
Attaching from the cloud is currently not supported by SKEDit. If you believe this feature is interesting for your business, please submit a suggestion to contact@skedit.io.
Toggle Accessibility OFF/ON and restart your device
In some other cases, you can try restarting your device and/or toggling the accessibility OFF and then turn it back ON to fix it.
Make sure SKEDit is not running on an SD card (External storage)
If SKEDit is running on an SD card (external storage), it will be "unavailable" when the system boots, which could turn off Accessibility services.
To fix this, please follow the below steps:
- Move SKEDit back to main storage
- Turn ON Accessibility for SKEDit (see How-To enable Accessibility for SKEDit and solve any issues)
- Turn Off Battery Optimization for SKEDit
Turn OFF Battery Optimization for SKEDit on your device
Battery optimization was introduced into Android 6.0 Marshmallow and above and it limits what apps can do in the background. For instance, if Battery Optimization is ON, Android will automatically turn off Accessibility for SKEDit.
To disable Battery Optimization for SKEDit, follow the steps below for your device.
Samsung
- Go to Settings
- Tap Applications
- Tap three dot menu (top right corner)
- Tap Special Access
- Tap Optimize Battery usage
- Tap Apps not optimized
- On the Optimize Battery Usage screen, switch to the All apps list from the drop-down menu
- Find SKEDit and turn it OFF
Google Pixel
- Go to Settings
- Tap Apps & notifications /Advanced / Special app access / Battery optimization
- Find SKEDit App and select Not optimized
Huawei
- Go to Settings
- Tap Apps
- Tap Advanced (at the bottom)
- Tap Ignore optimizations
- Select All apps
- Find SKEDit on the list and set to Allow
For Huawei P30 or P30 Pro:
- Please go to your phone settings

- Tap App launch
- Find SKEDit
- Toggle Manage automatically to Manage manually
- On the pop-up screen, toggle ON:

- Secondary Launch
- Run in background

- Go to Settings
- Tap Battery & Performance
- Tap Manage apps battery usage
- Tap Choose apps
- Tap Installed apps and choose SKEDit
- Tap No restrictions
- Go to settings

- Turn Battery saver OFF
Note: When your Xiaomi reaches a low Battery level, the battery saver mode automatically starts and ignores the battery optimization setting you've chosen previously, so steps 8, 9 and 10 are advisable.

- Tap Battery
- Tap the (...) menu in the top right corner and press Battery Optimization

- Tap SKEDit

Note: When your Motorola reaches a low Battery level, the battery saver mode automatically starts and ignores the battery optimization setting you've chosen previously, so steps 8, 9 and 10 are advisable.
