How to Schedule Messages to a WhatsApp Community

Send scheduled messages to one or more WhatsApp Communities, or combine them with other recipient types in a single bulk schedule.

Overview

SKEDit supports scheduling messages to WhatsApp Communities. You can create a single scheduled message that targets one community, multiple communities, or a mixed bulk message that includes communities alongside any other recipient types.

Supported Schedule Variations

A scheduled message to a single WhatsApp Community.

A bulk scheduled message combining communities with other recipient types (contacts, groups, etc.).

Important — Always Use Single Contact Selection

When adding a WhatsApp Community to your schedule, you must use Single Contact Selection. Multi-Contact Selection is not designed for community selection and will not work reliably for this recipient type.

Single Contact Selection

REQUIRED FOR COMMUNITIES

Add recipients one by one by tapping once on each recipient individually.

Multi-Contact Selection

NOT FOR COMMUNITIES

Long-press on a chat in WhatsApp until the blue SKEDit PIN appears, then select all the contacts or groups you want to message and tap the blue SKEDit PIN when finished.

STEP-BY-STEP  •  ADDING A COMMUNITY

Open the WhatsApp Recipient Selector

Begin creating a new WhatsApp scheduled message in SKEDit and open the recipient selection screen.

Navigate to the Communities Tab

In WhatsApp, switch to the Communities tab where all your communities are listed.

Tap on Announcements to Select the Community

To select an entire community as a recipient, tap on Announcements inside the community. This selects the community as a single recipient for your scheduled message.

How it Works

Announcements is the broadcast channel for an entire community — selecting it sends your message to every member of the community.

Selecting Specific Groups Within a Community

SKEDit also supports selecting any individual group or multiple groups within a community, instead of sending to the entire community via Announcements. Open the community and choose the groups you want to include in your scheduled message.

You can target a single group inside a community, several groups, or the whole community via Announcements — all from the same scheduled message.
