Recipient Naming Rules for SKEDit
Avoid send failures by following these naming guidelines for the contacts and groups you schedule messages to.
Why Recipient Names Matter
When SKEDit sends a scheduled message, it locates the recipient by searching for their name. If two recipients share identical or very similar names, or if a recipient name is built entirely from emojis, SKEDit may fail to identify the correct contact and the message may not send as expected.
Identical or Very Similar Names
When two or more recipients have the same exact name, SKEDit cannot reliably tell them apart during the search and selection process.
Names That Match in the First 30 Characters
Recipient names must be unique within the first 30 characters. If two names only differ after the first 30 characters, SKEDit may select the wrong recipient.
Both names start identically — the difference appears only after the first 30 characters, which SKEDit cannot reliably distinguish.
Names Built Entirely from Emojis
SKEDit cannot detect recipient names that are fully written using emojis. The name must include readable text characters for SKEDit to find the recipient correctly.
What to Do Instead
When adding recipients to a scheduled message, make sure each recipient:
Quick Summary
Always schedule messages to recipients with unique names, names that are distinct in the first 30 characters, and that contain readable text (not only emojis). Following these three rules keeps the search and selection process accurate and prevents scheduled messages from failing.
