Open the SKEDit scheduling screen and tap the red warning triangle at the top right. It lists the exact settings your phone still needs. Turn on each one until the triangle is no longer red, then schedule your messages.

Before you start
- Your phone runs Android 8.0 or later.
- WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business is installed and set up on the same phone.
- SKEDit is updated to the latest version.
- Any plan works. Setup is the same on Free, Pro and Max.
Why these settings? SKEDit sends your message by opening WhatsApp and tapping for you, using Android Accessibility. The battery and auto-start settings keep SKEDit running in the background, so it is ready at the scheduled time.
Setup checklist (all phones)
Your phone shows only the items it needs. The list appears in this order:
- Auto-start (some brands only)
- Accessibility
- Run in Background
- Battery saver (some brands only)
- Activate Multiple Contact Selection
- Bypass Screen Lock
- Notifications
1. Open the list
- Open SKEDit and tap +.
- Choose WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business.
- Tap the red warning triangle at the top right.
2. Auto-start (some brands only)
This item shows only on some phones: Auto-Start on Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO, and App Launch on Tecno and Infinix.
- Tap the blue button under it.
- Find SKEDit.
- Turn it on.
3. Accessibility
- Tap Enable Accessibility.
- On your phone's Accessibility screen, tap Installed apps. It may be named Downloaded apps or Installed services.
- Tap SKEDit.
- Turn on the switch.
- Tap Allow or OK to confirm.
SKEDit uses Accessibility to pick your contacts and to send your scheduled messages.
4. Run in Background
- Tap Disable Battery Optimization.
- Tap Allow.
SKEDit should now be listed under Apps not optimized. On some brands this item has another name, like Battery Optimization (OnePlus) or Background activity + auto-launch (Oppo). See your brand.
5. Battery saver (some brands only)
On Xiaomi, Redmi, POCO, Vivo, Tecno and Infinix, SKEDit also asks you to remove battery saver limits. See your brand for the exact option.
6. Activate Multiple Contact Selection
- Tap Enable Appear on Top. On some phones the button is Enable Display Over Other Apps.
- Find SKEDit in the list.
- Turn on the switch.
This lets you select several contacts at once.
7. Bypass Screen Lock
Choose one option:
- Provide Pin or Password: SKEDit unlocks your phone at the scheduled time.
- Enable Smart Lock: your phone stays unlocked at a trusted place or device.
- Disable Screen Lock: set your screen lock to Swipe or None.
Or keep your lock and turn on Ask me before sending when you schedule a message. SKEDit can only type a PIN or password, not a pattern. Fingerprint unlock can usually stay on. Full steps: Managing Screen Lock.
8. Notifications
- Tap Enable Notifications.
- Turn on notifications for SKEDit.
Tip: If you use Do not disturb, give SKEDit's notifications priority so they still show.
9. Schedule alarms permission (if asked)
If SKEDit shows Schedule alarms permission is not granted, tap Enable and allow it. SKEDit needs it to schedule your messages.
10. Check that you are done
- Go back to the scheduling screen.
- Look at the triangle at the top right. When it is no longer red, the main settings are done. On Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO, also finish Other Permissions. On Tecno and Infinix, also finish App Launch, Power Saving Management and the lock screen overlay.
Note: If you use Smart Lock, the triangle can stay red. This is expected.
Tip: Do not schedule two messages at the same time or very close together. Leave some time between them.
